Guide to playing Pokemon on your computer!
« on: June 03, 2011, 12:35:38 am »
I know most of you know what Pokemon is. Remember the good ol days of Pokemon? Well, I know now that the prices of buying ANY Pokemon game is practically through the roof, not to mention even finding the handheld to play it on (Pre- DS). So, want to know how to play it on your computer? And no, this isnt some stupid rpg version. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL.

Alright, now to explain the "Emulators". These are pretty much your gameboys and Ds's. They allow you to play your games. Of course, each one excels in a certain type of game, but No$gba allows you to play any Pokemon game (Even Black and White once patched.) and VBA only lets you play GB, GBC, and GBA. Desmume is like No$gba, but better. Basically Id choose Desmume for Ds games and VBA for GB, GBC, and GBA games. Though I use No$gba for Ds and VBA For the Gameboy games. Anyway, here are the downloads for the Emulators:

No$gba- http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/nocashgba.html

VBA- http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/vboyadvance.html

Desmume- http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/nds/desmume.html

Now, for the games. Simply put, just drag the file of the game from your desk top onto the emulator. For the DS games on No$gba, simply go to "Options" and then "emulator options" then down to "NDS something" and click the one second from the bottom.. It says like 516 kb flash or along those lines. Dont worry, simply save as if you were playing the game itself on a Gameboy or whatever, and it will automatially save for you. If you need more help, send me a message via msn@ Leggomeeggo@hotmail.com

Now, for the games. Note: I didnt add Black and White, or HeartGold and Soulsilver,  since its hard to find a patched version thats in english.. But you can google it if you want to.

First of all, I do not whine. Second, how is this pointless? Third, you just posted spam. Your post did not contribute to the discussion, and only comprised of 6 words.. So if thats not spam, then I dont know what is.

Pikachu*. And yes, I could find it, but there are several reasons why I didnt include the last four Pokemon games (Black and White, the two newest ones, and HeartGold and SoulSilver, the ones before B/W). First, is because they need certain patches that you pretty much have to do yourself (YOu take the patch and upload it onto the game) or you can find a patched version, but thats a pain. Second, the graphics are kinda.. Messy, and it lags alot. Third, its hard to find a patched one, in english, that has little to no bugs, and that actually works on download. I spent a whole day finding a Black and White patched in english, and even then it was super laggy. But I may or may not add these games onto the list, as well as a guide to getting them, if this even gets a bit popular..

None. The anime fails. Read the manga, play the games, and stay away from the anime ^_^.

For beginners, probably Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald or LeafGreen/FireRed, since they are pretty simple and good for teh newbies. My favorite game is probably Platinum or Black/White. Of course, they explain how to do st00f like catch Pokemon in the beginning of the game, so you could play anything.

hey guys there is also a pokemon community, located at www.pokecommunity.com which has hacks of pokemon roms making whole new games from old pokemon roms(Most notably Fire red and ruby because of stability) but if you go to that forum and go to the emulation section you can find a multitude of hacks xD

hey guys i can also link you to a working black and white, but it has a few differences, you can catch all 649 pokemon in the series without trading, and all the trainers levels are harder and have more pokemon, and they are perfectly stable, i can play them for 5+ hours on an emulator for windows without freezing etc if you want some links pm me :)

I actually have an account on PokeCommunity with like.. 250 posts or maybe a bit lower... But yeah, they have a wealth of hacked games and st00f... I have found several working B/W ROMs, its actually not that hard, its just that most you have to patch, and its annoying to do so >_<. Plus it lags like crazy on my computer.
