wow , very good i like the idea yourattemting to write a book , great vocabulary , but if you keep this up it wont be a very long story , maybe when you say , for 3 long years i trained and what not , try takinga paragraph or two or even more to decsribe those years , its like your just cutting across a part of the story , but overal its very very goood and id defenitely love to help , i love to read and write , and not to show off but i once read an 800+ page book in 3 days ( last month)

i also reccomend the series of books "the wheel of time" their vocabulary and setting in time and everything is much like your own book , maybe if you read it youd get more ideas on what you should write.
